Poolesville, Maryland

the

"Dr. Thomas Poole House"

Main

Toni Koerber of W.C. & A.N. Miller is proud to present this extraordinary piece of Montgomery County history.  The Federal colonial home was the home and office of Thomas Poole, the son of John Poole, II, for whom Poolesville is named. Built in 1830, many of the original features remain intact including the original three story staircase, mantels, window and door surrounds.  Spacious rooms, high ceilings present an elegance found in Georgetown estate townhomes.   The office addition (the Doctor’s Office) was added in approximately 1860 and lends itself to a home office with a separate outside entrance.  Prior to the current owners the home was used as a restaurant (King's Head Restaurant). The home was updated and restored and is now used as a residence.  Conveniently located in the heart of the town of Poolesville, the historic home is the jewel of the Poolesville Historic District and on Maryland's Civil War Trail.
